This book is extremely helpful for reviewing current guidelines and for specific system reviews. I used it during my women's health rotation as a supplement and substitute for some the required text readings, as their was too much material to review and it was difficult to retain that much information. This book presents information based by systems and it is laid out in a format that is easy to review. The questions at the end of the sections allow for evaluated of information retention and serves as a good indicator of areas that require additional review. I definitely feel that this book contributed to my success in the clinical and didactic portions of my women's health course.
If I could only buy one book in order to study for the AMCB certification exam, it would be this one. In fact it was the only study that I did buy! Using this book in conjunction with my textbooks from my program left me more than adequately prepared. I do wish that the CD had more questions that were different than the book, but overall it was a great resource. I even saw a couple of the practice questions from the book I my exam!
Great resource. Used this alone to study for boards and did great. I love that there are lessons and then questions to help review. I used other study sources and this was the only one worth the money.
I like this book. There are great questions in case study format. When posting reviews about "errors" in the book, please let us know what they are. For some things I can see why someone might have a different answer, but which is correct? So far I haven't found any errors, but I am only 1/4 way through the book.I like the bulleted features of the chapters with review questions at the end. This makes it a great book to study from.
Used this for most of my studying for boards. Love that it came with the link for online self testing with results reviews. Passed my boards!
The only book I studied for both midwifery and women's health board exams. Also has online resources and tests that are even better.
After only 4 days of studying with this book, I took the test in 45 minutes and passed it!!!. Taking the test felt just like sitting at home and doing the practice tests with this guide.
There are a few typos in this book, but I basically only used this to study for boards and I passed. It was well-organized and easy to use as a study guide.
