Great book for integrating Social Studies and Science in the Second Grade curriculum. The teachers loved it and the students are asking for it during their independent reading time. Students enjoyed studying all the details in the wonderful illustrations. As a Literacy specialist, I think this book is a winner in every way, a must for every second grade classroom.
We gifted this to our 4-year old for Christmas. He's been curious about fossils, bones and underground. This book is packed full of information and illustration. We've read over it in detail and in an overview. There's also something exciting about reaching the Earth's core in the spread and flipping the entire book to climb back out the other side. Both 4 and 6-year olds are sprawled out on the floor drawing what they see and simultaneously folding up the book so it looks like "dinosaur teeth" and jumping over it Evel Knievel style. I'd say it's a win on all fronts.
We Love this book. It is such a fun one to read to kids. The way it all pulls out into one long page had my kids so engaged and excited to follow along. Great fun & educational at the same time.
One of the coolest books that I've ever seen for the young child and budding scientist.
My son loves this book. We originally saw it at a Scholastic book fair but it was way cheaper on Amazon.
My 4 year old son really likes this book, he loved that it was interactive and pulling out the pages. It opened up conversations about what really is all around and under us. Would recommend!
This book is amazing! The illustrations are beautiful and the pull out is massive. It really makes the connection between the world we walk around in (and on) and what's below.
