Page 17 in paper book : setDriver(WebDriver driver) has this code setBrowserHandle(getDriver().getWindowHandle()). The method setBrowserHandle is not defined anywhere in previous pages or the next few pages after that. A serious problem like this right in the beginning is enough to make me return the book.Moreover, the code provided on Packt website and github is very different from that in the book. For example, the code on page 16 handles creation of webdriver for iOS and android devices. But, the online code does not. BTW, setBrowserHandle is missing in the online code !!! I can understand that the final code will not be exactly the same as that in the book. But why such a huge difference ? So much of the intermediate code is missing from the final one.Another issue is that the github repo for the book code has only 5 commits !!! So, we can’t see the intermediate steps, i.e. how the project progressed and became the final version. I am sure that if the code was committed according to the progress in the book, then there would be many more commits. As an aside, some random person and not the author has committed the code on github. Looks like they are out of sync with each other.I strongly suspect that many or all of the positive reviews of this book are fake. I wonder why no one mentioned any of these issues in their reviews.
This book is for someone who actually knows webdriver and java and who wish to develop a framework, this is not for beginners

Todo aquel que automatice debe leer tu libro. Aprender gran parte de lo que señalas me tomó un año de estar investigando, practicando, y tú lo simplificas en este libro que sólo me tomo leer una semana. Gracias por el aporte Carl.
First, I would not recommend this people for people who want to learn Selenium without any Selenium experience. This book has too many references to external material to be helpful in that regard.But to someone who knows some Selenium but wants more exposure to Java components like TestNG used in frameworks this book will be helpful.

Very well written for someone who is beginning to learn working on Selenium Framework as well as advancing to refining and enhancing knowledge in designing selenium framework using page object modeling and Data-driven testing. The author has nicely explained all the concepts with minute details with great code samples which makes it easy to understand. Book also guides to follow coding standards which will help everyone developers as well as testers to get close to industry level standards.
This is hands-down the best book money can buy for anybody looking to develop automation framework using Selenium/Grid/Saucelabs solutions. All the topics are very clear & organized. It covers all the framework essentials right from creating the selenium driver class, writing easily maintainable tests to distributed execution using selenium grid or sauce-labs. It is a must have book for automation engineers.
Very well written for someone who is beginning to learn working on Selenium as well as advancing to refining and enhancing knowledge. It presents a good information recipe to accomplish the Selenium Framework Design in Data-Driven Testing. I am highly recommending this book.
